THOUGHTS: the top of the box is a fine example of simple lines and near perfect contour. I have lately been exploring the importance of perfect surface texture reflection, integrity of focal light points, and very sharply cut dividing lines between design components. This top is an almost flawless example of these interests. The bottom of the box is a superlative example of these same expressive techniques, with an additional layer of design components or complexity, but, due to the amount of oxidations that remains in the sharply cut dividing lines, each design element is distinct, allowing the viewer to easily distinguish the design. Additionally, the bottom of the box is a wonderful example of chasing in heavy gauge metal. The side of the box is the weakest aspect of this piece. I came to believe that it was about an eighth-of-an-inch too wide, which has thrown off my attempts to perfect the scale of the piece.
